2007 October 15th Mystery Monday
Posted by FIL on Monday, October 15, 2007 (14:03:18) (834 reads)

As last weeks Mystery Monday was rained out, the Motorplex postponed the event until this week. This time round, the weather was perfect, the track was awesome, the only thing missing was drag racers (which meant more runs for those who did show, with some drivers getting in 15+ runs during the night)

2007 October 10th Whoop Ass Wednesday
Posted by FIL on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 (14:43:33) (901 reads)

Tonight's Whoop Ass Wednesday at the Perth Motorplex was cut short by rain, but while the track staff were hard at work trying to dry the track so that racing could continue, spectators were given a bit of a treat with one of the biggest burnout fields ever seen at a Whoop Ass Wednesday, including a "small" skid from Burnout champion Peter Gray. Many of the burnout drivers in attendance tonight were giving their cars a final shakedown before Saturdays West Coast Burnout Masters, while some took the opportunity presented by the rain delay to head to the Snake Pit for the first time.
You can find the photos here.

Posted by FIL on Sunday, October 07, 2007 (00:51:16) (683 reads)

The first outing for dedicated race cars at the Perth Motorplex for the 2007 / 2008 season was the official pre-season Test and Tune held on October 6th. This was a chance for new drivers and new vehicles to license, for already licensed drivers to shake down their cars and bikes before the first National Open of the season, and for the rest of us to check out all the new cars, faces and paint on the scene for the new season.
New cars debuting included Frank Taylor and Al McClure's Funny Cars, Tony and Gillian Argentino's "The Hitman" Supercharged Outlaw Sedan, Jess Harper's new Dragster and the Chapman Brothers' new Mustang. Nick Gairdner unveiled his new "flat black" paint job (with a hint of safety orange)
About a hundred other cars and bikes were out running laps and getting some track time. You can check out all the action here.

Nitro Funny Car Fury
Posted by FIL on Sunday, March 26, 2006 (12:41:01) (869 reads)

Photos from the Nitro Funny Car Fury are online now, but are only visible to 'VIP Members', they will be made available to the general public in a few weeks time.
Looking at the results of the survey I posted on the subject, this shouldn't bother too many people, so I'll be restricting access to most events for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, to see how things work out with the VIP section...
